Home Lab
Detailed information about my personal research/production home lab.
My current homelab setup in an easy to understand Miro diagram.
I began my homelab with a simple Proxmox host on an ISP modem/router. I started by breaking down multiple network services and how they work in different operating systems. I slowly expanded by gaining a Ubiquiti switch and an AP along with a Linux Ubiquiti controller. I started to understand out how vlan and subnetting worked but had to use PFsense to allow for more advanced routing within my home network. I then obtained a NAS and a UDM-Pro to replace PFSense. I have mainly used Ubuntu and Debian server in order to better understand command line management of the operating systems and administering it in a production environment. My current job mainly uses Windows Server so using other OS's at home has been a great experience. I'm currently setting up a full Win Server 2019 DC environment and all the benefits that comes from it.Â
